Tonsillitis

Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone here gets tonsillitis? I never used to but I've now had it twice in the last two years and it's soooo painful. I thought it was only something that kids got? (i'm 25!) I also had glandular fever last year and was wondering if the two could be connected?

I've had it twice - the first time during my A-levels, aged 18, and then again when I was a 1st year SHO, on nights in A&E. The last bout was horrible, had rigors and a mouth full of pus-laden tonsils, eugh!! Nice!!

Glandular fever can cause an ongoing sore throat-type picture, but wouldn't make you more likely to get bouts of tonsillitis in the future.
