just a rant.....

hi everyone just a rant about doctors.

my little fella has been unwell for 9 days. terrible chesty cough even producing some green mucus.

had him the doc's three times last week. he has been wheezy and needing his inhaler every single day. needing up to 5 puffs per time. inhaler is doing the job as it is lasting for about 3ish hours.

doc's could hear some wheezes they said but nothing to be worried about.

well nothing for them to be worried about, my poor little one is coughing that much that he is losing his breath to the point of a choke.. he has a temp on and off (calpol is working).

he is breathless between speech and is also tugging at the throat.

took him to the drop in last night and they put him on pred for 3 days.

they say they can hear noises in his chest and even got a second opinion.

they have said to keep going back to my doctors or even take him to alder hey.

as a rule my g.p is really good but we have some occassional doctors and these seem to be the ones i always have difficulty with. (these are training to be gp's)

i feel as if they get fed up with me taking him, but isn't it better to be safe.

i can't understand how they sit with a warning on the screen saying serious asthma and yet put it all down to just a virus (i know virus' will cause a flare up)

sorry to rant

thanks for reading, i know some of you will have had the same prob.

Hope jake is feeling a lot better now and keep taking him the docs etc if

you still think jake needs help.

Glad you have a drop in centre as its some times hard to get in your docs the same day.

I know this is an old post but this is something that regularly happened to us. My son was very poorly for a couple of years, in and out of hospital. I took him to the doctors one time needing prednisalone and was told he didn't have asthma (we were under a consultant by this time), he had a chest infection (he didn't) and i was to stop giving him blue inhaler as it would make his potassium levels drop. We went from the surgery straight to A&E and he was kept in for 2 days. It really makes me mad when u are told you are wrong when you know your kid best.
