Asperger's

Hi everyone. I haven't been diagnosed with Asperger's but I know I have got it due to things I do and I always feel really weird when I do these things. I always like routines, I like to know the times a lot and like anywhere in the world I will want to know the time randomly and I also get obsessed with things a lot. Would like to know anyone out there who is like that??

Hi im like you in same boat but everyone is different as much is how you was brought up/been around things to get something your afixed to.

Reason were all different is because it's a spectrum like a rainbow so you can be anywhere along it.

There are minuses but also many plusses with Asperger's

Thank you for your reply! It's nice to meet people who are similar to me as I always feel odd Because I feel like no one else can be like me.

My obsession is water wastage, I have gotten the meter read down to just 12 litres a day last half year, compared to 20 last bill, I try to flush as little as possible, a 3 flush day is a failure in my book, and its surprising once you get into it how much can be done under a mere trickle, using baby wipes to wash as dont like the feel of running water on my skin, also I hardly ever wash up as my eating habits are erratic to say the least.

I can totally relate to you with the obsession side as I constantly get obsessions and they last ages as I get fixated on that one thing.

That's the same with me. I've had an obsession for 2 years now and I will continue to obsess over that one thing.

I think perhaps you need to seek a diagnosis. If you're younger, having the diagnosis may help you in many ways e.g. organisations will have to make "reasonable adjustments" for you, by law. Being obsessive could be an indication of other underlying causes. ASD does vary in its effects between individuals, but there's usually a number of indications. Are there other reasons you have for suspecting. Have you done a self-test?

Not what you're looking for?
