Welcome to the group Raelouise. Would be interesting to know which arthritis you have and what treatment you are having. I have Reumatoid and Osteo along with Sjogren's, Vasculitis, Asthma and Bronchiectasis.

Hello, I have OA in a few joints, it's more of managing the pain than any really treatment.

Hello there, I have multi joint arthritis plus gout. It is mainly about controlling pain as you say, but there are many ways of doing that besides pain pills. When suffering an increase of pain you need to slow down till the flare up reduces, the most popular herbal choice right now is CBD oil in capsules , but price is prohibitive for many. Its a case of trying most things to see which suits you. We have a local group who meet every 6 weeks run by the west midlands rep for Arthritis Action and discuss many aspects of pain remedies even personal saunas in your home. It is worth a look on arthritis actions website which is seperate from Healthunlocked and is not a forum, has lots of info and facility to become a member .

Hi, I did have a look on their website but there are no groups in my area, I do use a cbd thermal rub when pain is too much.

The Thermal rub is much cheaper than the capsules. There are other rubs too vast in number to list . Capsicum rubs are highly reccommended as are some other herbal things that are much cheaper, worth trying herbal sites to see what might help and which works for you but generally it has to be something to use regularly to prevent pain . Good luck.

I really need to find something I can use daily at work

Maybe something odourless, with Hyaluronic Acid in or stick with the CBD oil. Glucosomine works well for many and it is available in cream now too. Hope your pain remains stable so you can have the distraction of going to work. As many distractions take our minds off the pain. Oh just another option 24hr heat pads while at work might help, if in your hands maybe arthritic gloves. Hope these ideas help, and a warm welcome to the site .

Thank you for reply, good luck with finding things to allow you to continue to work as long as possible. I worked for many years with arthritic pain as a disabled person until my employer retired me off on health grounds.

Cheers thank you, I'm use to dealing with painful hips on a daily basis, it's the shoulder and fingers that I'm not, hope your week is going to you.
