They're the bane of my life.

Would appreciate information on footwear that doesn't cause painful feet?

Skechers the best soft shoe, but saying that a lot of cheaper brands are comfortable, I wear soles in mine

My freind and I concede we can't wear shoes very often, I wear insoles from the NHS but only one pair . So have to find something similar elsewhere usually on line. But they can cost as much as shoes. Softshoe makes are good, none lace up trainers too, cosyfeet , shop around is the best solution. I have a pair of hotters I bought in a sale that look like shoes but have a trainer sole, not cheap but comfortable. My mum used to wear those slippers with proper soles on and velcro closes were comfortable and she used to go out in them except on wet days. Would pumps perhaps be another option. Sadly my feet get worse no matter what shoes & once the feet swell or the joints it is even worse plus too much walking. Some days I feel like it would be better with no feet, know what I mean. As for steps well we won't mention that, but I would rather not use a wheelchair as that causes even more difficulties with independance. I need a chauffeur like the queen :):) Hope the shoe info helps.

So very sorry that you are suffering with your feet, have you tried the NHS Podiatry Service. A long wait but it was a great help for my foot problems, if they cannot help they should refer you to a foot specialist.

I was, now l wear foot and ankle supports which were made for me in the USA.

Good luck!!

I only wear Anodyne shoes. They are extremely comfortable and come in many widths. They will accommodate orthotics, but come with various inserts. They are pricey, but worth it! Their website is not set up for international ordering, but they say to contact them via email.

Trainers, even to work on bad days. I still own all my lovely heels; can't quite bring myself to get rid of them! Birkenstocks (with the toe posts) are nicely dome-shaped for summer.

I have insoles from NHS podiatry, which are ok, but no better than trainers, mostly.

I believe Vionic footwear is supposed to be very very good for your feet, might be worth a Google

Agree, shoes are a nightmare. Both my ankles pronate inwards due to osteoarthritis, plus I have very wide, size 8 feet!

I have liners provided by NHS podiatry which

fit in the only shoes I can wear which are reasonably “fashionable” and very comfortable from D B Shoes widerfitshoes.co style Buxton. As the fit of even same style and make of shoes can vary I was lucky to find a local stockist who are very helpful and are happy to order me several style and widths to try.Good luck with your search.

Another vote for fitflops which I have only just started wearing again after trying hotter, cosy feet and cushion soft before that the only comfortable shoes were Clark's unstructured and still are

I recommend Vivobarefoot . Been wearing for about a year now and fantastically comfortable. I tend to order men’s shoes which have a wider front of foot which adds to comfort and I also go up a size which also gives more room . I prefer the lace up styles and now have both shoes and ankle boots . The first shoes I dont want to rip off my feet as soon as I get home . More expensive than other brands but I think they are worth it .

I wear trainers mostly but haven’t really had painful feet (it used to stop me in my tracks and reduce me to tears) since I had acupuncture! That was about 10 years ago. May be worth a try?

I live in Skechers with the memory foam insoles, couldn’t function without them!

Good luck in finding something that suits you. 🤞🏼

Sorry to hear about your feet Happy5, did you manage to ask a podiatrist for some recommendations? Although this is not directly related to shoes, but you might find it helpful that we recently partnered with Able Label to create adaptive clothing for people living with arthritis; making self-dressing easier. Have a look here: theablelabel.com/collection...

You could investigate MBT =Masai Boot Technology. Might be of use.
