Been to the drs today regarding easy/excessive bruising. They’ve said it’s linked to my psoriatic arthritis. Anyone else suffer from this?

Yes, I first noticed it on the day I was given a depo-medrone steroid shot for RA. I would bruise easily and the bruise would remain for many months. I would bruise without remembering any knock or accident happening. This continued for possibly a couple of years throughout taking Prednisolone, Hydroxychloroquine and Methotrexate but has certainly eased off a lot since my inflammation is far better controlled. It is another added frustration often meaning you have to make careful choices on what to wear so that you can “ hide” the bruises. Best of luck and I hope it eases, as mine has. If you are particularly worried speak to your specialist in case there is something else going on.

Be aware that bruising easily can also be a sign of vitamin and mineral deficiencies, particularly iron and B12 and folate (B9).

Hi, my wife as psoriatic arthritis. Yes she does get bruises. The cause however can be for a number reasons mainly around the various treatments given. However it is poor practice to make a statement of cause without ruling out other causes such as deficiencies. If the bruises are a problem then go back and ask him to eliminate other causes.
