has anyone got any advice on ankle pain that is caused by arthritis in the lower back - an MRI scan showed this was the problem..the pain causes me to stumble and fall. I do strengthening exercises, use tubigrip on occasion, and sports bandages but with not much relief...I'm fed up with my legs constantly covered in bruises!
Hi you seem to be doing all the right things. Do yo take painkillers for the pain. What type of arthritis do you have. I have psoriatic arthritis and OA. I take medication for the psoriatic arthritis to slow down the progression and cocodamol for the pain. I was also given a rollorator from my physio to help me when I walk I also have a stick on order. Take care x
I don't take painkillers other that paracetamol & ibuprofen occasionally. I do take gabapentin for the nerve damage in my back, but not regularly. I have OA and I wear a knee brace to stop my right leg giving way ( I need a new knee but I have to wait another couple of years yet - you've gotta love the NHS!) . My left kneecap was removed 10 yrs ago so my gait is somewhat ungainly at times, and my walking is so slow LOL, but I don't like using a stick, there may be a time when I don't have that choice but right no I try to avoid it.
