That's interesting as many areas may not do testing for B!2 and folic acid before giving birth

or after birth. Research from the Lancet shows a high incidence of mental health occurring during pregnancy due to B12 and folate deficiency and if this is severe it may affect the blood count dramatically so a haemorrhage is possible. If nitrous oxide is used during labour this further decreases the B12 and deficiency and can help cause a post natal haemorrhage. Most mental health facilities refuse to accept that vitamin deficiency can be a common cause in mental health problems and use heavy drugs which may increase the vitamin deficiency and mask symptoms. I had a severe post natal haemorrhage after birth and used nitrous oxide during a long labour. It was fifty years ago so there were no tests for thyroid B12 and folate levels. Luckily I recovered from this but it took months with iron and vitamin injections after birth. The vitamins were not B12 with B9 so there was a gap in knowledge then.
