Hair loss *please help*

Hello, i just started Warfrin 6 months ago but will be on it for life, due to my mechanical valve and I'm worried ill lose my hair forever., go bald. Can someone with knowledge tell me how this process works please? Thanks

Morning, the same thing happened to me shortly after starting warfarin due to blood clots. My body was in shock and was trying to recover. Nobody listened to my complaints about hair loss and was told it will stop and come regrow. They were right, just give it time.

But if you can overly anxious about it, you can maybe get changed over to the newer anticoagulants that dont require testing, or acenocoumarol and phenindione that work similar to warfarin.

I know how stressful it can be, but that to can cause hairfall.

I really can’t see you losing that much I’ve been on Warfarin for 7 years and lose bits of hair but not much.

This is me the other week so I do have my hair cut short. Hope you get on ok.

I have two mechanical valves. I used to take warfarin, but I too was losing hair. I had to push my consultant, but he eventually switched me to sinthrome. I believe that there are three vitamin k antagonists and this is another one.

Why don’t you ask to switch? It’s worth a try.
