Hi I've had a stomach bug since 5pm yesterday with some serious dairrhea (sorry). Do I need to contact my anti coag nurse to tell them?

If it is a simple stomach bug and clears up quickly it is unlikely to have serious effects on your INR. If it continues for more than 48 hours then it might start to have an effect. Why don't you give the anticoag nurse a call on the phone and ask her anyway just for peace of mind?

Thanks for your reply! I gave them a call and they said exactly what you said! I was just a little worried with being slightly dehydrated!

Being dehydrated can thicken the blood so it follows that it is another reason for maintaining good hydration. Water is best.
