Do any of you carriers have lactose intolerance and gluten intolerance? I developed lactose intolerance in my 30's. Early 40's, gluten.

Yes. Lactose intolerance. I have brought this up at our annual get together and nobody has any problem. Even the specialists at the meeting have said that I must be a one off as they have never heard of it. I am 52 and have had an intolerance for about 4 years and I have also had an intolerance to eggs for the past 2 years. I can tolerate a very small amount of both as long as they are processed in a recipe.ie cake.

No, I missed these so far! I have developed other food sensitivities (the Allergist states that they are NOT allergies) - aspartame (I lose concsiousness), scallops (severe hives took me to the ER) and chocolate (hives again). I'm 53 and am being tested tomorrow due to an occasional choking sensation, possible hiatal hernia. The meds I take are more the culprit there than anything else! The only milk product I usually partake in is ice cream, have never been a big milk drinker.

I have both and the finding of this fact is what got me off of steroids for my adrenals after 12 years of use. Most with the same problem have not been tested and go through life not knowing that there body has trouble handleing dairy and gluton. When our bodies are fighting one illness it is very important not to hand it another, proper diet is a must. I would highly suggest being tested to be sure for those who think they are not, feeling tired and run down after eating a pizza the day before is a sign. Many with our illness have good and bad days and many times that can be traced back to diet.Muscle testing is a very simple and easy way to test for this problem and will not cost a lot if you find the right person to do it.

I am a carrier of ALD and I haven't been on for a while so I was surprised to read this as I am dairy intolerant and when I stay off dairy my aches and pains in my joints are less severe. It is the whey protein that I am intolerant to and it is in most foods. So looking for food without milk product can be a very boring and tiresome diet when you are cooking for your family. So it is easy to slip up.I am drinking soy milk and cant tolerate cows milk at all.

My reaction to milk product are fluid retention, swollen joints, headaches, puffy itchy eyes and itchy skin, bloated stomach, wind, and sometimes loose bowel movements.

I had my MRI last night and had other test for my nerves and brain last tuesday and get all my results on Monday after my nerve conduction tests and EMG.

So Im never sure if its the carrier symptoms or allergies to foods or BOTH.

Im not sure if any of this helps anyone but I thought I should share anyway

Regards
