Has anyone tried or researched pioglitazone? It seems similar to MIN-102.

You should thoroughly read the patent. It looks extremely promising, though the experiment was done on mice.

I doubt it. It's one thing to repurpose an old drug, much more profitable to patent a brand new one.

Hence MIN-1002.

For what its worth, the author of this study, Aurora Pujol is known to me from years ago, from one of our early meetings with scientists. She was one of those who came to London for the conference we organised, and she was a thoughtful and open-minded person.

My understanding is that the human trials were stopped when the MIN-102 trials started.

Don't forget Metformin as well.

A drug I posted about a few years back.
