I am new to this site. I am 85 years old and have little or no short term memory. I would have trouble telling you what I had for supper. My Memory loss doesn't fit the definition for Alzheimer's but seems to have resulted from a litetime of severe Migraine headaches. There is complete loss of short term memory but none of the other symptoms I am reading about in Alzheimers articles.
The Medical people I have seen have diagnosed it as Alzheimers but I have no other symptoms besides the short term memory loss and what I have does not seem to be progressing. It seems to be pretty much the same as it was when the Migraines stopped when I was in my 50's. It has been the same now for about 30 years. I was an avid reaader all my life but I can't enjoy reading any more because I forget what happend a few pages ago.
I am 85 years old now. It doesn't seem to be getting any worse. It has been the same for about 30 years. I live in a Retirement Home and am able to get to know people after they tell me their names and some info (often more than once). People are pretty understanding.
