Hi David, Welcome to the community. See this page on MCI, which may answer part of your question: alzheimers.org.uk/site/scri...
Bottom line: it really depends on the individual situation. Some evidence based research shows that regular exercise and a healthy diet are important for cognitive health.
Exercise raises the levels of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which helps the brain grow and maintain neural connections.
Two other suggestions: eat a healthy diet for body and brain - you can download a quick reference guide: mybraintest.org/dl/Top-10-F...
And practice good sleep hygiene - see this article for 5 beneficial sleep habits: mybraintest.org/2016/05/fiv...
All the best to you.
Hi Davidb I to have been diagnosed with MCI my diagnosis was this year, I go through periods of good and bad, there is a percentage of people who do go on to develop Alzheimer's but it is only a small percent if you are worried go back to your health care provider as I am on an open door scheme if I feel like I am getting worse or I am worried then I can get an appointment with the memory clinic hope you get some answers sending positive thoughts.
