I'm going for my 3rd in a series of 3 appts for the Wais IV tests for dementia. Its the last one and only about an hour with the Neuropsychologist. Does anyone know what it consists of? Then go for diagnosis and prognosis a week later. All total the test was 9 hours. Has anyone else taken this exam?

The WAIS IV contains several modules. Based on 9 hours of total testing time, you will probably cover most, if not all of the tests. Use this link for an overview of the modules:

The WAIS is a well validated test, and has great normative comparisons for all age groups. It is also long and can be tedious.

You might want to ask your neuropsychologist whether he/she has looked at software based cognitive exams (usually on a laptop or tablet). Many of these newer testing systems are used in pharmaceutical clinical trials and are (slowly) beginning to be used in general practice settings.
