Hello, I believe that I have a peg/pg allergy based on ongoing reactions and process of elimination with products that has been going since 2017. I have an appointment with an allergist soon to do a patch test and will hopefully get some answers then. In the meantime, I’m having trouble functioning day to day. Between breathing in whatever chemicals are around me and potentially, unknowingly still using certain products that may contain peg/pg, I feel on the verge of an allergic episode all the time. Has anyone had any luck with a daily antihistamine or any sort of allergy med to at least not feel horrible all the time?
Daily relief: Hello, I believe that I... - Allergic to Glycols
Daily relief
It sounds like your body is really on overload with glycol exposures. IMO the quality of the air you are breathing is very important. It can be a serious problem if many of the people you are around are using lots of fragrant body sprays/personal care products or if conventional cleaning products are used in your work space. I don't know of an antihistamine that would work, but when I have severe congestion (usually because of the weather) and need my sinuses to drain, I take Dr. Mercola's Liposomal Vit. C together with a Standard Process supplement called "Congaplex". They work very well together and can be purchased online. If you want me to send you a copy of a paper I wrote which may help you avoid the glycols better, email me at kerrykuzak@mail.com. Best wishes.
The QVAR RediHaler is expensive and requires a prescription but has been a lifesaver for me. I was also able to get an allergy medication compounded. My anxiety over it all has finally started to lessen, but it’s been a rough road. I hope you find some relief soon!
