Ablation Update...

Well it's been 8 days since the ablation and I'm feeling pretty good today. I have been really tired for the last week and was getting worn out very easily. My insertion points are healing up and most of the aches and pains are gone.

I've had 2 AF attacks since the procedure and both were really mild attacks. My normal heart rate during an attack is around 160 to 180 BPM and these attacks it only got to about 105 to 120 BPM. My blood pressure normally bottoms out and I get headaches and muscle cramps and pains but my BP remained pretty steady on these. And no aches or pains and was not worn out afterwards. Completely different attacks than I am used to and I actually felt like I could function during the attacks. I actually had to use my BP monitor to tell if I was even having an attack.

I called my EP yesterday asking about the 2 attacks and he told me that it would happen, especially during the first 6 to 8 weeks and should start slowing down and completely stop around the 3 to 4 month mark. He was very excited that my heart rate had went down (during the attack) saying that some electrical circuits had already been shut down and the scarring hasn't even started yet.

All in all I know that the ablation was the right way to go and am very happy that I did it. Looking forward to the next few months and then getting off of my meds to see what happens.

To anyone thinking about this procedure, I can honestly say that EVEN IF the lowering of my BPM and normal BP were the only results of the ablation I would still consider it worth while. To stop having attacks forever will be the bonus to what I've already gained.

Tim

Thank You All....

I had another attack last night "I Think". I woke up at about 3 AM and felt something, I thought about getting up and using my BP Monitor but just rolled over and went back to sleep instead.

I can't really tell any more if I'm having an attack unless use my BP moitor and I have never been able to sleep while it is going on.

Feeling better and better about this as time goes on!

Tim
