Hello,

Thank you for your post.

I think it would be a good idea to speak with your Doctor just so you are able to gain clarity around your concerns. They have full access to your medical records and will be able to advise you personally.

I would also advise keeping a diary of each time this happens, if it has happened just once then it is still important to speak with your Doctor for reassurance but, if it is happening every time, keeping a diary will help you to show this to your Doctor. They should then be able to provide appropriate advice.

I would also like to direct you to our Mindfulness and Healthy Living with AF Booklet in which it contains a section around exercising with AF, I do hope you find the resource helpful: api.heartrhythmalliance.org...

If you would like any support, advice or further information, please do reach out to our Patient Services Team via Patient Helpline or via email, please visit: heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...

We are always here if you need us.

Kind regards,

HollieAdmin

Doesn't sound like an issue to me, go a little slower cleaning and keep an eye on it and if it gets worse see a cardiologist as a GP is unlikely to have sufficient knowledge.

I’m 57 - very fit and have beta blocker ( amongst others) controlled paroxymal AF. When I exercise , it takes me a while to get my heart responding normally- this is a bet blocker affect . Sometimes early on in the exercise my Apple Watch picks up a heart rate of 160- but a quick feel of my pulse tells me it’s actually half that . It could also be that there are just get some erratic beats as your heart adjust to your activity - but what I have noticed is that after five minutes ( I do interval training ) my heart then adjust and rises and falls to the expected pulse rate . I wouldn’t worry if you didn’t notice it and it obviously returned to normal instantly .

Sounds ok to me. Your GP will probably tell you if you feel comfy it's ok (that's what they really me anyway).

I can't comment on the effect of any heart issues but a healthy person anecdote seems to apply. Recently my healthy 25y.o. son was playing in a squash tournament and he said his heart rate averaged 175 over that time. So if you are physically working and it goes up, but comes down again after, it can be normal.

More of a problem if it goes up without a cause and/or does not come down.
