Ianzzzz question about Bisoprolol?

Did you mean 15mgm tabs-? as my Bisoprolol tabs are 2 .5mg & I usually break in half, so take 1.25mg!This is my 'pill in the pocket' so I take them infrequently! Only when I'm having an AF episode!

When I took the 2.5mg tablet I felt quite weak, so my GP recommended halving the dose!

Best wishes to you

I take 1,25mg Biso as needed, but here in South Africa the smallest dose tablet available is 2.5mg made by Merck, but they are a silly heart shape and hard to half, what is the name of the manufacturer of yours if they are a sensible shape and I could ask my pharmacy if they can get them.? Thank you

Thank you, I'll see what he can do, but it is a small independent pharmacy that tends to use a limited number of suppliers

Cardicor do 1.25. The producer is Merck, they are heart shaped (I thought it was cute not silly :) ).

Yes it's Merck Cardicor 2.5mg that I get as 1.25mg is not availablein South Africa, but it is a silly shape to cut in half - I can't do it in my pill splitter. They may be fine for Valentine's day gifts, but not for medication - give me a nice round one for my splitter is all I ask😆

Bisoprolol reduces heart rate and does nothing for the irregularity so it only solves half of the problem. I was first prescribed the lowest dose of 1.25mg ( actually 2.5mg until I pointed out I was very sensitive to drugs!) to take daily but had to stop that after only three days as it brought my heart rate down too low for me. Of course, we are all different and if it works for you, guess it’s fine.

Hi Della, and all who’s interested in 1.25 Bisoprolol, the latest for me re Bisoprolol is that I’ve recently had an ECG at my surgery with a blood test. This is all following my occasional heart rate at a below 40 Bpm. And my occasional feeling like I might faint! My heart rate went down to 46 bpm during that ECG. The doctor wanted to see me directly following that and told me to stop the Bisop straight away! I have another ECG in just over a weeks time to see if heart rate is faster! Also booked in for a 24hr monitor ECG. So I’m hoping stopping the low dose will help. After 3 days feel the same and preety much ok! I’ll update this once Ive had the next ECG.
