Atrial Fibrillation (AF) runs in my family, my mum, her siblings, and my grandad all having AF. I first noticed symptoms at a young age, I was experiencing occasional shortness of breath and chest discomfort, which I attributed to my active lifestyle. At 17, while at the gym, I noticed irregular heart rhythm readings whilst on a treadmill and was later diagnosed with AF after an ECG.
