I'm afraid that most of us on Edoxaban bruise easily. You will also notice that you bleed more if you accidentally cut or graze yourself. You need to carry the card that comes with the drug just in case you have an accident as medics need to know that you are on a blood thinner.

I’ve always been someone who bruises easily but not noticed any difference with Apixaban. Bleeds from skin wounds take slightly longer to stop but pressure helps.

Blood from blowing your nose is usually from small capillaries in the nasal passages rupturing - usually because of dry atmosphere from central heating, frequent blowing of your nose and cold. As we age it becomes more common. I have the same most days and don’t worry about it.

You may be in for a long wait to see a specialist, unfortunately. If you can afford it you may want to think about a private consult.

In our area it is a bit more complicated as if you request private referral and haven't already got an NHS Consultant your NHS referral is sometimes cancelled, worth checking

Yes it’s normal. I’ve been on Edoxaban for three years, and even if I accidentally scrape my arm just reaching into a cupboard, up comes a horrible purple bruise. My arms are covered with them, since I’m not the most careful person around.

I take Edoxaban and haven’t really had problems. If I cut myself, it probably bleeds more than it would normally, but I just apply pressure to it and it stops. I had a tooth out a while back and the tooth had a curled root, so took a lot of digging out. I didn’t stop the Edoxanban and it didn’t bleed too badly. The dentist packed the socket. I do get bruises, if I knock myself, but it’s not very bad. I am on 30mg of Edoxaban.

Yes - I' m on Apixaban and often find small round bruises on my inner arms with no memory of banging myself. Rose thorn scratches bleed copiously as does the slightest scrape.
