Does bisoprolol cause some pins needles in legs and feet when walking or sitting
now what ! : Does bisoprolol cause... - Atrial Fibrillati...
now what !
When I was put on Bisoprolol a few years ago, I found that I had a lot more energy. Sadly after a while it started to cause pain in my legs especially at night. I had to go back to taking Metoprolol.

I’ve been on it 5 years and not had those side effects but it can affect people in many ways. Vit B12 deficiency causes pins and needles and tingling.
If you have Raynaud’s BBs can make it worse. Do your fingers and toes turn white at the same time? Does the circulation return later on? If so, that’s probably Raynaud’s. I have Raynaud’s so that’s how I know. BBs might not be suitable for you in that case, but make sure you get these symptoms checked out before making any changes. It could be any number of things so please contact your GP.
I get much colder hands and feet now I'm on a BB, tho only rarely pins needles. I believe that's common.
Hello,
Bisoprolol
Bisoprolol is another beta blocker and is used to slow an abnormally high heart
rate. Beta blockers protect the heart from the effects of adrenaline, slowing
down the activity of the heart muscle which also reduces blood pressure.
Bisoprolol is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), angina and in
some cases heart failure, due to the protective effects it has on the heart from
adrenaline stimulation.
Side effects: As with all medications, there are possible side effects. Although
not everyone experiences side effects, those known that can occur are:
dizziness/light-headedness or feeling faint, sickness or nausea, diarrhoea,
tiredness, hypotension (low blood pressure) or bradycardia (slow heart beat). If
you are asthmatic, this should be highlighted to your prescribing doctor.
It is important to speak to your doctor if you experience any side effects from
medication.
Considerations: Bisoprolol can interact with other drugs, ensure that your
doctor or pharmacist is fully aware of all the medications you are taking.
If you have any concerns and experience new symptoms, always check with your doctor for advice.
Kind regards

I get plenty of these but they predate my use of bisoprolol, although that seems to have made it worse (and it's flared of late). It's called peripheral neuropathy and causes a hotness, too, in the feet and ankle area - on occasion in other areas. I also get cold big toes, which seems to have been the bisoprolol. I think it's a feature of all beta blocking drugs and I once read that there are beta receptors in many parts of the body, despite bisoprolol being one of the most cardiac selective.

I don’t get pins and needles as such, but if I wear my slipper socks, my feet don’t seem to have much feeling in them - unless I tread on a grandchild’s toy ! Also, my feet feel very cold to my brain, but when I touch them, they are reasonably warm.

Yes it causes that with me too.
The lowest dose of Bisoprolol brought my heart rate down too low so I was told to stop taking it after only three days! We are all very different and eventually doctors might realise that and that we may well need to be treated individually. Good luck finding what works for you. Flecainide works very well for me and has virtually ended AF episodes. Having taken it as a Pip at first, I now take it regularly , 50mg in morning and 100mg at night, but also have a healthy diet with no meat or dairy.
