Hi everyone, just to say, walking , exercise, definitely gets rid of ectopic beats, that can lead to AF. Hope you find this is true.

Yes I do walks rain or shine and consider it one of the important lifestyle changes to better manage AF.

This is a great example of how everyone is different. Walking is good for me but more strenuous exercise, running, weight training, provokes them. I manage it so it is not too many but have to be careful I don’t tip myself into AF.

That's good. It's quite the opposite for me, very much so. You are lucky! I think it all depends on the cause of the ectopics.

l’m afraid it’s the opposite for me. Exertion makes mine worse, even just bending over. I have to sit down and then they subside. I find them worse than AF at times and feel them flipping over more in my chest. Not much fun, but l am led to believe they can happen instead of a full blown attack of AF., so ………….

I’m another with increased ectopics when exercising, I do walk the dogs daily but frequently have to stop to let my heart settle down, same with any activity I do.

Positive to hear that exercise helps reduce your ectopic burden. :-)I have found that this has worked in the past for me, but at times exercise has also triggered bad ectopics for me and then an episode of AFib. Generally over exerting can cause problems so I remain mindful of this in my exercise regimen (more yoga and medium intensity biking than road running and intense hikes)

I do find that after suffering with ectopics/ PACs for going on 4 years now that they seem to have a mind of their own at times and that whatever seems to be having no effect one week may for the next week provide some relief.

Lately I have been adding 20mg of zinc to my diet and only eating for a 6-7 hour period between lunch and dinner (reducing possible vagus nerve triggers). This seems for some reason to have drastically reduced my PACs for the last week or so 🤷. Could just be coincidence but I am sticking with it for now.

Wishing you a stable heart

Hi - at risk of sounding like a quack I have a story to tell. Back in Dec 23 I had an ablation for AFib and a week later went into a rhythm 160bpm which lasted for 4 days - I had a glass of bicarbonate of soda and chewed a couple of raw garlic cloves and somehow this “shocked” me out of the rhythm - well months later I still have no AFib but had occasional runs of ectopics which would come and go again - went on holiday to Cyprus (Hot), blood pressure went too low again and assuming due to the heat dilating veins which lowers blood pressure and taking Ramipril so stopped the Ramipril again and faint feeling went (again) but had ectopics pretty much permanently the whole time - whilst they didn’t particularly bother me too much, still aware of them and not the most pleasant feeling - came back home and still ectopics for a couple of days - remembered the bicarb and garlic so did it again and few mins later had the first normal reading in Kardia and 1 ectopic in 60 seconds instead of every 2nd beat - next day none, 2nd day still none - no idea why but I don’t believe in coincidence and that’s twice where this somehow has stopped non/normal heart beats for me

Very interesting, When I'm in AF sometimes when I eat I go back into sinus, but equally after eating causes me to go into AF, think it's to do with the vagus nerve.
