Happy Saturday folks!Appointment went well, was with Arrthymia nurse . Good long look at my notes and discussion. Outcome was to continue as current, remain on flecanide, extra as PIP.
Not to go on diltiazem as suggested due to bad side effects.
Back on clinic list, and further Appointment in 6 to 9 months. So,direct support available again.
Happy bunny, oh and came away with a bargain pair of trousers from the in- hospital shops, and a brilliant dinosaur toy for my grandson ,as well as a nice coffee. A Grand Day out really 😆 🤣

So pleased it all went well and glad you now have that support. Oh don’t talk about in hospital shops. I was having radiotherapy Nov/Dec a few years ago and being that time of year there was a plethora of Christmas markets, sales etc. Having to go daily for 3 weeks my bank manger was pulling his hair out by the end. x
Admire your persistence! It pays. Having direct support is what we need isn't it? I think it's especially important as we get older - regular echocardiogram to check heart function- and check ins. I'll be pushing for the same October 4th. Apparently it says in upper case on my appointment notes - MUST be seen by Dr Lencioni (our visiting EP). So far so good, so let's see if they try to discharge me.
Mine is once a day in AM label reads Diltiazem CD 120mg. Meaning slow release over 24 hrs. Dr thinks it is all used up by late PM.
NZ was stopped importing 30s and 60s.
Starts now at 120mg CD(180mg CD is 1/2 dose and 360mg CD full dose)
The only time my ankles are swollen is the combination of heat, driving all day but with stops. They can stay up for a couple od days but always raise them at night.
Usually your heart rate goes down when you are asleep my normal x 3 heart monitors is 47bpm avge from now on Diltiazem 60s - low 80s during the day.
But just a reminder my stroke happened at 2am and I awoke with a terrifically sore head. I went off to loo, so tired I went back to sleep. But I reawoke at 5.30am, didn't make loo, looked in mirror. face drop, so I showered and rung 111. I had right hand dropsy, incoherrant speech, swallowing difficulty with water. It came as a shock as I had mowed 2 small lawns. I had fallen asleep on the couch earlier.
Helicopted to Northland Hospital Whangarei. Windy and wet day. They had to find the tablet, then stop for fuel at Bay of Islands. We were all given a no sick injection too.
