Wouldn't surprise me if it was caused by the stress. At times we unwittingly hold tension in our heart area. I've caught myself doing that many times and quickly relax it away.
I'm learning about involuntary muscle tension, it's so interesting, I now realise my breathing difficulties are from tight muscles squeezing my ribcage and interfering with my diaphragm, all caused by anxiety. I really do think it's not helping my AF at all because on the occasions I have had valium it goes away. I'm now on a cocktail of antidepressants and I'm very slowly getting to grips with it. I am amazed how many people out there have bad muscle tension causing all sorts of issues from numb arms and legs to vision issues and everything inbetween.
mskneurology.com/chronic-mu... There are lots of this stuff on google and youtube, I really do believe that because we have issues with our hearts, we cause subconscious clenching around the chest area, its the anxiety "protecting" the heart against all what can go wrong, however anxiety can be so over the top with its protection, it creates illness, not all people have this problem with heart issues, but i know with my anxiety it hasn't helped.
lt is so disappointing when it returns after a long break. I have had the same recently after 18 months. It made me very anxious again. Stress and a gastric endoscopy triggered mine. I have had frequent attacks which now seem to be settling down with longer periods in between. Stress would have been your trigger so, hopefully, if you give it time, it may calm down again as mine has. If not l believe the mini-maze is very successful. Thank goodness this is treatable, so keep positive and don’t let it bully you. Wishing you well.
Oh No! Sorry to hear that but you are doing the right thing by contacting your consultant. However, I would check and see what has triggered it first and try and see if you can work that out. Other than food and beverage triggers which you may have and i am sure you now avoid are you over tired or over stressed? Hope this doesn't last and you can have a relaxing weekend.
