Maltaq

is anyone else on this medication? I’m on schedule for an ablation in a few weeks for Brady/tachy syndrome. Since my dizziness and shortness of breath had become unmanageable my doctor prescribed Maltaq Generic name is Dronedarone. Just for these few weeks. It’s been a miracle. I can’t even feel the arrhythmia anymore. Wondering if anyone else has experienced either good or adverse effects. Thanks.

I have been on Multaq for over two years. It has been good for me. It did not stop episodes from happening but they were fewer and more manageable. I have a pacemaker now for sick sinus syndrome and still on Multaq. Best of luck.

Been on multaq a few years now, but it has not been a miracle for me, along with bisoprolol, it does subdue afib but certainly not a cure in my experience.

Not me, never have been. I’ve read that Dronedarone can be highly effective. Monitoring for complications mandatory because of potential medium and long term major toxicity. I’m not a doctor.

I was on it for yr no problems then suddenly started having dizziness, vomiting, blurred vision & headache shortly after taking it so was stopped & symptoms disappeared.

Hi, I’ve been on and off dronedarone over the years since stated with AF at age 52 . I’ve never had side effects and on the whole it has served me well. It has kept me in NSR post ablations and cardioversions . A few times after about a year it has just stopped working and the AF has reappeared ( usually persistent ) . Then I have come off it . I can’t take flecanaid as it makes me feel dreadful . After my 3rd ablation was partly unsuccessful as the EP was unable to fully isolate the superior venacava , he has advised to stay on it long term . Not happy about this as it’s still a toxic drug and I’m not yet 60 , so hopefully will investigate other anti arrhythmic drugs and sotalol has been suggested . Best of luck for your forth coming ablation . Amanda
