l have hit a rough patch with on and off AF. It was so bad, with chest pain, that l phoned 999. The paramedics told me off for not phoning sooner as l had it for a few days. My point here is, why haven’t you phoned 111 or gone to A/E? l think you need to get checked out, so please don’t leave it any longer. You should not be left like this until August.

5 weeks?!! When I've had episodes in the past, I've called an ambulance withing a couple of hours. My last episode, bpm of 45-200, fluctuating rapidly, pain in my left arm, fluttering, palps. Went straight past the queue in a&e into resus for all manner of tests. Dude, never leave it that long 😳

Hi wbekim - you are not alone in experiencing anxiety alongside AF - the two are intricately entwined. Not everyone feels anxiety which doesn’t mean there’s something the matter with you if you do. We’re all different. Adrenalin surges in the middle of the night can set off mental worries and my AF definitely did that. We all find our own route through. Mine was to download the Balance App for meditation and relaxation - a life changer for me. And also still practice box breathing at the slightest hint of anxiety or funny heart beats!
