Sotalol side effects

Following my ablation I am rather hoping I can stop taking Sotalol at some point in the near future.I have been thinking (my annual review is coming up and I will be asked various questions about meds etc), does anyone here experience body aches and pains or GI issues when taking sotalol. My body aches and feels stiff most of the time, something I have put down to age but I wonder now....

Thanks for the post. My Consultant cardiologist has put me on these, switching from Nebivolol. Waiting my first supply from pharmacy right now. When I start on them I'll get back to you and advise if I have any such side effects.

I’ve beeen on sotalol for 18 months with no problems at all.

Hi Karendeena.

I have been put on the max dose of Sotalol for some time now (80 mg 3 times a day). Personally I have had no problems at all - we are all different of course.

I read that taking it with food can help reduce gastrointestinal side effects. I also read dairy products reduce absorption. I take Sotalol with breakfast with non-dairy milk/yoghurt. Hope this might be helpful for you
