I stood up tonight after diner to take my tabs gor the night. 120mg diltiazem and 40mg verapamil before bedtime. I immediately started feeling i was about to pass out. I sat down and took my bp which was 100/74 which doesnt seem low to me.Earlier this afternoon it was 93/69. My HR at rest is mostly always at 60 as i have a PM set at 60..

My thoughts are that maybe i shoulfd skip the beta blocker for tonight.

Any suggestions please.

Has your medication changed recently? Rather than skip tablets without checking with your doctor, why don’t you try increasing your fluid intake. Dehydration causes BP to go low.

Worth a try, failing that you need to speak to your doctor.

Was one of the two drugs recently added? Sometimes they add a drug for one reason and forget to eliminate another drug that does the same thing.

This can result in over medication.

I would definitely inform your doctor right away about your side effects and maybe they can do a medication review/ adjustment.

Thanks Jim. I will go down and see what can be done. Ive had a terrible night. I get to the point i just dont know what to do and in the middle of the thats just not fun. Ive just woken up after having snatched an hour of slemi sleep which is me moving from 1 position to another. I find a good pos ,even ealking to get a glass of water and within a a couple minutes its back, ive got to move. I say the Rat is back in describing whats going on in the left dide of my chest. If only i had a direct line to my specialist, alas i cant even get her contact number so down to see a gp. Mine will be all booked up so i will be given an ecg and then what ?? Will have a hot shower.Colin

Do you have any other heart issues or health issues besides afib ?

May want to consider a visit to A&E.

Just the afib/flutter. I could still bike before being treated for aflutter but gradually started becoming excersise intolerant. Now the aff is permanent and the meds seem to stop me from doing any worthwhile excersise

Hi,

I am on Verapamil. My dose was increased a few weeks ago and for the last two weeks I have had several dizzy spells. I have a pint of water three times a day with my tablet so I know I'm hydrated.

I had blood taken yesterday and had to wait in the chair afterwards because I was lightheaded. I am currently doing a seven day BP check, the systolic ranges from 84 to 112, the diastolic from 49 to 66. Yesterday morning before the bloods it was 84/53.

I am seeing the cardiologist on Tuesday and I expect my meds to be altered.

Those BP stats seem seriously low to me. I have an omron bp machine and have been checking it lately when out of sorts. When i get down to a bp im not used to i stop them for a bit. Its not what we are supposed to do but i cant stand the low bp. How on earth you can manage on 84/53 . I would be probably flaking out and staggering instead of walking. I would say your getting overloaded on calcium channel blocker. The doc will soon tell you. All the best lets know how you get on.

I am struggling a bit to be honest, just been shopping with my husband (obviously I'm not fit to drive) and went dizzy reaching up to the top shelf. Ended up just holding onto the trolley. It made me realise almost everything we needed was either on the top or bottom shelf 🙄 and I could get neither.

It's very frustrating, I'm usually active and I'm desperate to get into the garden and plant my veggies.

Thank you for your good wishes ☺️.
