got my 1st appointment with the. Ep at uchw Coventry tomorrow after my 2nd ablation last September. Unfortunately I’m Still getting episodes. A few time a month. Convert with pip of 200mg flecanide and 2.5mg bisoprolol in a few hours

Wonder if they’ll offer a 3rd ablation ? I’m keen to pursue a pulse field if that’s the case at papworth.

Do you feel better though than you did before having any of your ablations?

I’m not sure to be honest. Not really

Before any of my ablations my heart would absolutely bang in my chest when I walked up hills. I had no idea that other people's didn't do that. After my first ablation in 2011 that never happened again. My PAF attacks continued though.

My second ablation in 2013 did nothing despite the procedure lasting 6 hours. I was still ending up being admitted to a hospital ward with fast AF

My third ablation left me with attacks of PAF which occurred roughly once every 5-6 weeks and needing cardioversions, but after lots of them I was told I wouldn't be offered anymore. I was devastated I can tell you. Now I'm in constant AF and my heart rate flits between 60-90bpm and I can cope with that rate.

Sorry to hear about the ablations not working Jean. But at least your fairly comfortable right now

quite a journey!

Good that your HR is between 60-90 now, although in constant AF. That’s the same as me. Can you feel you’re in AF, wonder what symptoms you have at this lower HR level?

I can get days where I feel absolutely drained and can sometimes feel my heart beating a bit faster. I'm wondering whether my thyroid meds need increasing slightly.

How did your appointment go Lenlec?

Hi the ep has listed me for a 3rd ablation. He said this time they will look at areas outside the PV cor the af. And maybe trigger af while I’m on the table. Getting nervous now

The way things are generally in the nhs, it's good that your treatment is ongoing and the next stage is planned. I've read lots of posts on the forum from people who've had several Ablations; in fact I'm sure BobD has had three and is very positive about the last one, so please don't be anxious - it may be that the extra mop-up is just what you need!

Good luck.

had my follow up appointment at uhcw.

The ep (dr panniker ) said he will list me for a 3rd ablation this time looking more extensively for triggers and areas of af. Maybe inducing af while I’m on the table. ???
