I was officially diagnosed with having a fib just a few months after my son was born in 2018. I believe I may have experienced this as a child growing up and didn’t know what was happening.
I have ONLY had afib episodes after I’ve throw up. I have converted back several times with taking metoprolol and also have had 2 cardioversions.
Does anyone have a similar experience? Any suggestions?

Throwing up can stimulate the vagus nerve, so not surprising it can trigger afib. What is the frequency of your episodes and have you found a common reason why you threw up each time? Initially, all my afib episodes came after drinking a very cold beverage. Also, vagus nerve stimulation. I stopped drinking cold beverages and they stopped. Later, I developed other triggers.
it’s been when I’ve been pregnant and sick or if I have the flu that causes me to throw up. I have heard it’s a vagus response. I’ve tried taking anti nausea meds before throwing up, but it doesn’t always help. Sorry you’ve also experienced triggers
Sounds like your Vagus Nerve is too responsive. I have the same and have taken years and a number of lifestyle changes, principally stress reduction, to try and restore normality.
My heart seems to behave itself provided all things are moderated eg stress, exercise, food consumption & more.
Over the last 11 years since diagnosis, I have gone from two episodes a week to on average one short one every three years.
