This has popped up on my AF page. Would this be more appropriate in Pain Concern or perhaps something to do with osteoarthritic shoulders.

Hi

Come on.

We all have a multitude of diagnosis.

Help the person out. As I can tell you I joined the thyroid forum and like Jeanjeannie backward turned.

I wasn't allowed to give me experience. And I had to look at folks not being assisted in their plight.

A rotor cuff repair is not arthritic or bone disease.

Just one of us could help an enquirier Ben. Having been in the same circumstances. I had left shoulder repair in 2005 when that was major. Now they do surgery through two little holes. I had no bruising either!

Let me put it to you in simple and basic English .... if I wanted advice on how to deal with a torn Rotator Cuff tendon the last place I'd have looked would be an AF forum ! Got it !

Goodness me .............. I didn't know that. It hardly jumps out at ya ! and I certainly don't have the time to click on every user name to investigate any relevant or irrelevant medical history approved by Admin or whatever. That this patient had AF was not apparent from his 11 word question. Had he said so during his question he might have got a wider response. But he might not. It still doesn't alter the fact - if I wanted advice on how to deal with or get comment on a torn Rotator Cuff tendon the last place I'd have looked would be an AF forum .

Hi

But it was his question and he was not trying to sieve out answers from this forum, Bill.

As I said, we AFers have more than just AF as our diagnosis.

It's interesting we help relatives to the posters.

Just skim over those posters that you don't know how to or are disinterested in.

We have got a great response level, lets keep it that way.

Our ACC here tried to squeeze out of paying for my inner cuff operation as I had had a stroke with AF. I took them review. Then I was about to take them again when the 'FROZEN SHOULDER' which was Bursinitis (2 different diagnosis) and then they consented, paid me out and said no funding of post-op visits to physiotherapy or to have home help.

Great then the hospital accepted for the physiotherapy.

Then I vacuumed with pipe and other arm!

Hi

Before you posted this above, you will be pleased that I emailed him via Private Message.

I get all sorts of questions away from AF and I am happy to help if I can.

I realize that this is an AF Forum but Tracey has allowed it and I, along with one other AFer, replied.

Tracey don't send any questions outside AF to this person.

I'll say no more.

Hi Afib The recovery time after Rotator Cuff surgery depends a lot on how extensive the surgery was and doing a very regular, carefully graded routine of exercises to be done several times a day. These should have been given to you by the team at the hospital.

Hi

I had my surgery for right shoulder rotator cuff on 30 October 2023.

I had 1" shaved off spur, a full thickness tear repair and another reconstruction was one side of rotator cuff was anchored with too thin a tendon.

I have done weight strengthening of arm for the last 4 weeks.

For first 4 weeks arm dangling and making circles little to bigger movements.

Your surgeon should give the physiotherapy a regime of timely exercises.

Be careful.

I wish to get back to bowling, fishing, swimming, putting clothes on, gardening, and fic-it chores with keeping y home clean.

Hi

Ha ha yes, the arm around the back!

That at the top of list without surgeons permission.

But after GA I have 6 weeks od constipation and usuay have glycerine suppositories ready! But I couldn't use these.

Instead COLOFAC 160mg a big glass of water with a pill first thing in morning before breakfast. It works like a dream.

An Australian surgeon told me written on discharge. He said you have the longest colon compressed ito a small space"!

All in all the literature reads 4.1/2 months. But my activity like bowls will take longer.

Take care. Yes the arm around the back so helpful! For right hand activities!

Hi

After no meds except SOLGAR B12 sublingual for B12 Deficiency from 2010, I have become a walking chemist!

I was recalled after my yearly NECK SCAN and now awaiting results from my Thyroid Cancer surgeon for thyroidectomy and 12 lymphs removed (2 infected) over a lesion seen on level 3.

Very concerning.

Concerning indeed!

I do hope you find some "good luck" and some "better news" soon.

But I don't mean NZ beating Australia in the current Test Match.
