Hello
The members are here to offer their advice based upon their own experiences, however, I would suggest discussing any medication changes with either your doctor or in the short term seek advice from a pharmacist.
Good luck

I would phone your GP for advice of this kind, Mike. I would guess the change of medicines caused this and that you haven't settled with the sotalol yet. Taking blood pressure when there's lots of palpitations going on is likely to lead to a higher reading as anxiety is aways higher when that's occurring. Have you taken it while calm and rested? I find I need three readings while I sit calmly at a table with my arm on a cushion. I stare blankly at the sky to relax my anxious nature! It still dates three readings to get a stable one.

Read the information leaflet with sotalol. I'm not 100 percent but am nearly certain it can be pro arythmic. I was on it for six months, EP took me off as had severe bradycardia, fatigue and brain fog. But once off it my paroxysmal episodes really increased. They had been monthly on bisopropol. They definitely increased on sotalol and coming off it sent it bananas. Have you seen an EP re an ablation? I was having ten hour afib rvr episodes every three days. Ablation Dec 22, I've had thirty minutes of afib since. Huge change. I didn't realise how awful I felt, until I didn't feel awful. I don't think your GP will change the dose, mine refused, Ireland, I had to contact EP.
I take it 2x a day. Just asked doctor if I need to be on it (still) as I had one incident of AF 8 years ago; have been on monitor 2x and a sleep study....with nothing else. She said it isn't hurting anything and could help with blood pressure. I take it early AM and when I go to bed, no side effects.
