Cannot seem to capture the problem easily

Keeping things brief, have three stents, had blackouts, had ONE only capture of A/F. on ECG Found a blood clot in my leg Have been given loads of meds for years since stents including Apixaban now as a blood thinner for the above clot . Have been rated 5 on the CHA2DS2 – VASc. scale of risk . having a recording loop inplant this week inserted in my chest .

This week experienced heavy heart beats that continued to get worse, Thursday night kept me awake and had to sit up for a little relief. Saturday not good at all heavy heart beats seemed to be heavier. called NHS direct who advised a hospital visit . Went to A&E had ECG etc .... nothing , whilst waiting my Iwatch pickup up A/F? I have my own blood pressure monitor, and heart beat monitor but dont see anything? my heartbeat feels so intense and slow but the readings and pressures are normal ? I just dont get it . Left the hospital but out of breath most of the time when walking? Did show doctor the Iphone result but he felt it was to small to identify and to be fair it is only a watch and not a dedicated machine for heart reading issues ( which to be honest he is right)

Sunday has seen a lighter beat, but breathless when I stand up a little quick (which was not the case last week) and also a liitle breathless lying down .... yet readings suggest all OK ? I am not obese either, never smoked and dont drink anyway because of my meds.

I am just taking things easy, but I have always led an active life and was even doing roof repairs the week before with no issues .... what is going on !!"

Any diagnosis based on your post would be speculative. If I heard crackles at the bas of your lungs Congestive Heart Failure would be a prim suspect. This could occur regardless of the heart rythym or Blood pressure. There would be other physical signs and the fluid in your lungs would show on chest xray. Do you have a pulse oximeter and were there a n y oxygen saturation below 90 which could signify a relatively severe situation. You certainly need further evaluation. A Cardiologist or general internest should be able to direct you further. Presumably this should have been obvious to an a+e doctor. Best etheral

Thanks for reply , No crackling in lungs or fluid on lungs oxygen saturation is 94to96% so that seems fine. Noted my knees swollen this morning, ankles fine. Just a bit breathless when getting out of the chair or moving around . Now do this much more slowly . Thanks for the feed back though .

I have little to add to the above. Wondered if Kardia might help as the 6Lead shows other arrhythmias.

Good luck ☘️

It must be a very worrying time. I use a Wellue 24-hour ECG device. This uses AI to determine heart arrhythmias. I wonder if that might help catch the culprit?

Well not sure the details of your condition, but speaking for myself, I can readily tell when I am having and AF episode. My heart rate is above 140 - easy to check in my neck or wrists. My (dumb) smartwatch is very little help - it does show my HR but I can check it manually. I tend to distrust technology (although an Engineer with 2 advanced degrees).

In my case I HAVE NO SYMPTOMS other than the high HR. Have been on Apixaban for almost 4 years with no serious side effects. My last episode that resulted in Cardioversion lasted several days and I was unable to restore NSR with any of the usual relaxation techniques. My episodes are likely linked to my Anxiety Disorder that continues unabated regardless of my other medications. Hope this helps.

Hi thanks for message . For me it seems to be the reverse , my heart rate seems to drop This morning I went for a loop recorder implant , but when they checked my heart rate it was only 39bpm ? The doctor checked it twice and confirmed the reading was correct ? I did a check on my phone for this morning (Wednesday) and it showed it had been at that rate 6 times already and it was only 11.30am then?

I hope the recorder now captures the missing link ? I don’t deem myself as stressed but could it be stress levels work in reverse ie shock ? I don’t know but just clutching at straws really , but I don’t feel stressed but could be I suppose … really don’t know now.
