Hi. I am new to this and feel overwhelmed by it all. I've just been in A&E and have now added yet another condition to the already long list I have. Due to autoimmune hypothyroidism I have had lots of problems with my health and have struggled with finding the right solutions.
Now on more Bisoporol, Apixaban, and awaiting a CT scan and another 24h tape. Had numerous blood tests, ECG's over the past couple of days which fortunately hasn't shown any more damage. I knew I had LBBB as this was found a few years ago. My heart has been all over the place dropping down to 33 bpm and fluctuating up and down to 144 whilst sitting down. Got that strange fluttery feeling, and anxiousness.
It doesn't help that I am scared of taking new medicines either due to a bad reaction years ago that sent me to A&E with my heart racing at 200bpm.
The joys of getting older!

Bless you. Welcome to the club we would all prefer not to be in. Lots of info and supportive souls on this forum to help you on this journey. Read, ask and be calm. Lots of helpful info available here. Best wishes.
Poor ol you. You sound fed up. You are not alone in being wary of new medication as one size doesn’t fit all. It takes time with some meducations and it’s a case of trial and error. Anticoagulant is the most important. It took me a long time to get stabilised and a good quality of life, but you will get there. Always remember AF isn’t life threatening and won’t kill you. My Cardiologist told me that, so that fact has come from a good source. Sometimes the anxiety of it all is worse, but you will smile again and like you say growing old isn’t for the faint hearted. I wish you well and although you can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel at the moment, it will all get better. Lots of us on here have had AF for years along with other problems and we are here to tell the tale. Best wishes.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly I've had a reaction to Apixaban. I seem to have developed lots of allergies to certain foods in the past couple of years too.
Welcome, a new diagnosis is always a scary time, how will new meds affect the status quo, will the various people involved in the medical side of your care understand. Doctors are very good at the bit of you they are concerned with. I found that using this forum and the AFA website was very helpful. You can phone and talk to someone too.We are all unique and so is the way our own version of AF affects us. Once you establish what is normal for you and can say "oh yes, I remember this happening before", it isn't pleasant, but feels more manageable.
I find meditation and a mindful day by day approach helps hugely. I tend to an anxious approach to life which, without me taking a breath and time out, would be debilitating in itself.
I agree, noone warned us about this getting older lark!! Sending calm. By the way, I find 7/11 breathing helpful.
Breathe in to a count of 7 (count as fast as you like to start with) and out for 11. The longer out breath is very calming.
I understand some people have had existing conditions exacerbated by the C-Jab causing more puzzling issues in particular in relation to the heart and auto-immune system.
Previously branded as 'conspiracy' by our government & others, that I am sure have the Public's best interests in mind, expect a lot more information as now scheduled Parliamentary Debates, Public Hearings and the once silent Press report on doctors' findings over the coming months.
In the meantime, I believe Admin here won't allow us to include links but you could google FLCCC & World Council for Health to make up your own mind on whether it is relevant to your predicament.
I ducked that as well thanks to this Forum highlighting possible heart effects early on. Also not had Covid just the usual winter snuffles, don't even test now.
You don't give your age, but I also have LBBB, diagnosed nearly five years ago when I was 65 and then went on to develop arrhythmias. I likely had it for years as I have had ectopic beats since my thirties. Despite having normal blood pressure a cardiologist put me on losartan, an antihypertensive tablet as a cardio-protective. Feeling overwhelmed is a good way of putting it but that feeling will pass. These heart issues seem to be not actually as bad as they feel or seem - well, I live in hope of that, but the anxiety often tells me otherwise.
Hi. Thanks for your reply. I'm 61 with high blood pressure and numerous other wonderful conditions. I also have had reactions to numerous blood pressure tablets which have been most unpleasant.
I think that can happen. Bad luck! I was surprised that the losartan I take didn't make any difference to me at all. Even my blood pressure didn't drop a great deal.
