Hi can anyone tell if any of these tablets cause tiredness please
Medication : Hi can anyone tell if any... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Medication
Bisoprolol but that is a very low dose. AF cause tiredness of course.
Thanks Bob. Just feeling really tired all the time
I take only two meds out of your list. No problem with the Edoxaban but the Bisoprolol at first did make me unduly tired. Initially on 2.5mg, then 5mg, now 1.25mg. No longer have any tiredness with it but took about 4 months of adjustment. In my experience it is a very powerful drug even on 1.25mg but very effective if you can get through the initial few months it dose get better.
Thank you for your post, it is not unknown that taking new or many medications can take time for the body to adjust. If you find you are experiencing any side effects, including excess fatigue, or if you are taking many different medications together, then please consult a pharmacist for advice. I would also recommend keeping yourself hydrated and ensuring you are eating a well-balanced diet to ensure you are receiving all the right vitamins and minerals your body needs.
Kind regards

Hi
I stopped Losartan as I was losing protein showed up in my urine.
I understand it comes from familyof Metoprolol. Later I was very tired with no energy and pounding pulse.
Reason to revise your meds is tired and perhaps sleeping alot. I did. Now on Bisoprolol taken at night best time I can fall asleep late afternoon and I just let it happen.
Certainly not as bad as I was and AF rapid pulse is no longer.
How is your Heart Rate?
Meds need revision.
I take CCB Dilriazem 120mg AM for H/Rate Day
I take Bisoprolol 2.5mg PM for BP. goes up early morning.
You are takng Thyroxine 125mg I am as well. O have no thyroid due to removal to remove cancer. WHAT is your TSH? Have you got your Thyroid? What weight are you?
Always do a B12 check and 700-800 level for an older person. I have B12 deficiency so I take SOLGAR 1000ug Sublingual 3-4 days week. 1 nugget. Dr and I tested this product in the first instance. I didn't want injections.
I liook forward to some answers.

have you had your thyroid bloods checked recently?my thyroxine had to be tweaked when I started heart medication as they can affect the thyroid.
Only a doctor can know you well enough to say but I would think that tiredness is most likely from the thyroid tablets, in the sense of getting their dosage fully adjusted to balance the lack of thyroid hormones you have. For some people, bisoprolol can cause tiredness, I gather, even at a low dosage, so a switch to something like diltiazem might help. Also, AF can itself reduce the efficiency of the heart if the rate is high, and this can cause tiredness. Finally, AF can cause anxiety, which can bring in its wake a lot of tiredness.

Bisoprolol caused me tiredness and lack of motivation despite being on the same low dose as you. X
Bisoprolol for me - just 1.25mg put me to sleep for 5 ish hours after every one I took and made me feel terrible when I woke up. I also tried Arenolol another beta blocker - that also made me tired but not so bad as bisop. My GP decided I did no tolerate beta blockers and moved me to Verapamil a calcium channel blocker which also acts as a rate control medication. NO problems (for me).
We all react differently to meds and dose
I was told to stop taking 1.25 mg of Bisoprolol daily after only three days, as it brought my heart rate down in the 40s! Don’t know about the others except that Edoxaban messed up my digestion so that my stomach hadn’t emptied 5 hours after I’d eaten (when I had an endoscopy). Now that I am on Flecainide (100 mg twice daily) it has ended episodes of AF so I have stopped taking anticoagulants though that might have added to my fatigue (and possibly also messes up my digestion a little!)
Even lowest dose Bisopralol ( The dose you have) dropped my BP so low I could barely get out of the chair. I felt like a zombie and wanted to sleep 24/7. How is your BP?
You could try taking your Bisoprolol at night. Certainly get your thyroid levels checked. TSH isn’t the full story you need T3& T4 levels checked as well. NHS probably won’t do it but you can get it done privately. If you’re not taking a B12 supplement I would definitely recommend you try it. The NHS B12 test doesn’t include active B12. I’ve started taking a sublingual B12 and it’s made a huge difference - got my mojo back.
Search the internet and look for studies on those medications you might be surprised.
Bisoprolol caused tiredness for me at that dose even though it's a low dose. Ask your GP or pharmacy to review your medications and if done by a pharmacist ask them to notify your GP if they suspect that any changes should be made. With our pharmacy the pharmacist actually phones the GP and can make an appointment for us much quicker than we could ourselves.
