With all herbal remedies, you need to be careful of interactions with prescribed cardiac medications. The other problem is the potential to provoke an AF episode or affect the HR. Think about it — tea and coffee in general are deemed to be cardioprotective YET there are enough people on this forum who report these as triggers. So be careful. Herbs can be very powerful pharmaceuticals in their own right.

The problem with most Chinese herbal medicines is that they contain licorice, which contains a compound that depletes potassium from the body which of course, causes the heart to go haywire and into AF. Be wary, cheers.

Licquorice is not recommended if you have AF.

I use quite a few herbal meds. Haven’t used this one but you also have to be careful if you are on Anti coagulants because a lot of herbs can thin the blood. Hawthorne for one and others. Make sure to look up the side effects and what meds shouldn’t be used with them.

My Naturopath has studied Chinese medicine quite a bit but he didn't recommend it; instead he put me on a Mg compound and Coq10.

WK is I believe a cocktail of Chinese herbs, I could only find it from offshore Chinese pharmaceutical supplies last time I looked (years ago) . It was not available from TCM shops in the UK. So I did not venture further. The paper you link to states it may be effective but there's no solid proof.

Given the disparate things which can affect AF (booze, coffee etc) I left it alone.

I have used WK for approximately 3 years. It is clinically proven to stop AFIB & works.

WK has been clinically tested for its efficacy to help blood circulation, normalize heart rate, and improve and nourish heart function. WK is known as the first drug for arithmetic because of its safe and effective natural content.

Initially, I used 3 packets per day for 30 days. Then 1 packet per day.

I have had 1 episode following the death of a family member.

WK composition:

Codonopsis Pilosulae Radix 1.67 g

Polygonati Rhizoma 1.95 g

Notogingseng Radix 0.33 g

Succinum 0.22 g

Nardostachys Radix et Rhizoma 0.83 g
