3 Rd Ablation?

Had a 13 day episode of z fib ,after 6 years free , Possibly going to offered a 3 ablation,age 67 ,if I am still in rhythm should I go for it ?Been as it may not be available at a higher age

My z fib is incredibly sympathetic, along with beta blockers (sotolol)

Always a difficult question to respond to. Are you aware of any unusual circumstances which may have caused the episode. Apart from the obvious disappointment and anxiety, how intrusive was the AF. Unless you go private, it’s likely to take a year or so before you get the call so if I were you, if offered, I would definitely go on the list and leave any difficult decisions to nearer the time…….

If your AF is incredibly symptomatic, then yes I'd certainly go for a 3rd ablation.

Have you just had the one 13 day episode, or more than that?

If your AF is really troublesome then I would go on The List ! I had my 3rd ablation at 68 and my 4th at 76 years old , even though my EP was advising it sooner! I think the age business depends on your general fitness and your EP

thanks yep , just one episode, but after a tooth extraction, with adrenaline based local anaesthetic ,

And lots of personal stress anxiety..like sickfelling panick .. if offered I think it’s a yes .. generally fit but wait loss needed and check for apnea…
