Sorry you're not tolerating some of these drugs, it's not uncommon. The first question is, do you really need either bisoprolol or adizem? Some certainly do, but sometimes they are just given out automatically because you have been diagnosed with afib. I don't know your situation, but I avoided both of those drugs for over 30 years So, if not absolutely necessary, maybe a conversation with your doctor about having a trial period off of them.
Second, if you're new to Adizem, it may take a few weeks for the side effects to get better. Also, I tolerated the faster acting tabs better than the time release capsules, so you could ask to try that unless you're already on them.
Often doctors treat the condition instead of the patient, so it can fall on you to speak to them about trying different drugs and approaches, until you find the one that works best for you.

I can’t tolerate the drugs either and tend to agree with MrJames. Do you know why you were prescribed these drugs? Do you know what is causing your palpitations and fainting?
See the recent post re: there is no such thing as a simple faint from Admin.
I couldnt tolerate Bisoprolol even on the min dose, was totally allergic to Sotalol (still have the scars from the rash!) Tried combinations and Adizem made me so ill yet they say persist for a good few weeks so I tried. It was horrendous. Yet again I couldn't leave the house, couldnt do anything except suffer so I was put on Quinedine after another shock and have been so much better on it since. It took a while to get used to the upset tum every day but thats now settled. Its a hospital prescription only as its now unlicenced in the UK although it can be good for AFs. It hasnt cured the AFs and they can rapidly go into VFs but Ive been better on the Quinedine rhan anything else. Just had the first defibrillator shock for nearly 2 years, a record for me as I had them so frequently on beta blockers. I often wonder if the meds caused more harm than good but Im more settled now, just so annoyed the fatigue returned and I cant get as active so piling on weight. Its a viscious circle as no one wants me so overweight but I don't have any energy to last eaxh day. I wake up with grand ideas of what I can manage today and an hour later I'm tired out! Go back to your doctor and see what other options you have. My consultant says we've exhausted all possible options and is now suggesting surgery which Im unsure about until I get more info.
I think an ablation may possibly be a suggestion you'll get at some stage but it varies from one persons condition to another. Its worth discussing your options with your consultant if your gp will refer you or can maybe advise another option to try in the meantime. Its very much trial and error to find something that suits well. Good luck, let us know how you get on.
