Tachycardia

I had an ablation 7 weeks ago for atrial flutter. Was taking digoxin and flecanide 50 for Ist month but because it made my pulse going too slow in sinus rhythm I stopped taking meds except dabigatran . Maintained sinus with some ectopics at about 70 to 80 bpm till a couple of days ago when My heart rate went up and is staying about 100 to 104 at rest. No breathlessness, or chest pain. Should I just stay calm and see if it gets better ?

Are you still in NSR? If so a small dose of digoxin (,125mg) daily may help. Alternatively a low dose beta blocker such as Carvedilol 12.5mg could be tried. Please consult your cardiologist or EP as to the best way to proceed. Best, etheral

Thank you . I have digoxin flecanide , bisoprolol in the house. I believe digoxin takes. while to build up. I have talked with my daughter about taking bisoprolol again. Previously when in afib it dropped my bp too low. My local dr is not educated in arrhythmia neither are the drs at local a&e. and it is almost impossible to get to see EP without a long wait. Seems to me the whole afib journey is trial and error !

Yes, I'd give it time.

Cassag,

My thoughts are with you on your worries of heart rate. My diagnosis for AFIB was in 2014.

I was on Digoxin, Metropolol, Diltiezem and the dreaded rat poison (Warfarin).

I j=have been off of all of them excluding Diltiezem since 2015. You should look in to Hawthorne root/berry capsules. Works similar to Digoxin ( makes your heart beat stronger) but is all natural. I also take Nattokinase as my primary blood thinner.

I feel way better on my natural substances than the prescription "poisons." My opinion.

The main trouble with going natural is that:

1. Not usually covered by any insurance, but not expensive.

2. Dosage amount may need to be played with to find out what works best for you.

Look for my other posts which have more details on what my regimen is like.

Best wishes to you.

Thank you. I will look further into it. I do know about Natokinase but doctors won't talk about it. Are you still in afib?
