The AFFIRMO project is a collation of several sub-projects and open to all candidates with the following attributes:

If you are aged 65+ have Atrial Fibrillation and live in the UK or EU, then we would like your help.

We have been approached by The University of Manchester to recruit individuals with Atrial Fibrillation to provide an input for a new digital (on-line) health intervention. This digital intervention will use a mobile app that provides customised content relating to atrial fibrillation.

You will be required to attend a 60-90 minute virtual (on-line) workshop to take part in the study. For further details, you can visit affirmo.eu/ Once you have had an opportunity to visit, and you are keen to find out more details, then please contact: Charlotte Stockton-Powdrell charlotte.stockton-powdrell@manchester.ac.uk

Thank you for your support and time, it really is much appreciated.

Hallo TracyAdmin.

I am very interested in this project.

I had cryo-ablation September 2022 for Atrial Fibrillation. This action appeared to work for the AF but pauses continued. In January 2023 I was informed at a nurse appointment that I needed a pacemaker to handle pauses and that she would send me data on pacemakers. I was phoned back a week later to be told that the EP had decided that a pacemaker might not make any difference to my symptoms. I was told to choose if I wanted a pacemaker or not, the choice was mine. I felt that I didn’t have sufficient knowledge or evidence to make a rational decision, so didn’t opt for a pacemaker.

The battery on my loop recorder ceased working in February and the device was explanted in April. A variety of unwelcome symptoms are still present, including a return of PAF but there is no mechanism for recording and verification.

Anxiety rates quite highly in my existence at the moment, as a result of a lack of data, lack of care plan, lack of response to phone calls to the arrhythmia unit.

If the AFFIRMO project works in any way toward better communication between patient and all interested response units I would love to contribute.
