I had 10 blood clots round my heart,am now on apixaban for life.also got gout, caused by tablets.hospital gave me cochicine3day supply.after coming out hospital my own doctor gave me100 more,no apixaban.got that sorted.after 4month started passing blood in urine.60%blood.hospital told me I should be dead, cochicine is a maximum 3day intake.so please be aware if you get gout alupurinol is what you should be on.took my dr.over3 years to get it right.

What an awful time you've had, so glad all sorted now. You had a lucky escape by the sounds of it. It sounds like your DR needs some sort of reprimand, was careless of him. Strange too that your pharmacist dispensed so many of those colchicine tablets! Words fail!

in the states case like they suspend your pharmacists or physicians license for a period of time. It will be on their records when they move from one state to another. Not talking about lawsuit for bodily damage. And there is pursuit from DA office too. UK is so nice with them.

I agree ,our laws are pathetic,I didn't even get an apology.

Sounds like you should look at changing your GP. You won’t get an apology because that would be admitting the mistake.

Yes I have changed my doctor.they also made several other mistakes.i went to the nurse at doctors due to chest discomfort, she didn't know how to use an ECG monitor, and gave my peppermint capsules.when I changed doctors I was told I should be on lansoprazole, for acid reflux.all sorted.

Im so sorry to hear this but so pleased you are ok now❤My hubby had gout and takes cherry tablets every day, not had it since.

I hope you change dr. Yours and the hospital pharmacist should be reported, but its the last thing patients need when they are so ill.

Best wishes to you.

Glad you have moved and I hope you get the service you deserve from them. You can buy cherry tablets on Amazon. They help lower uric acid

I think my hubby might have been offered the tablets you mention, but he decided to try the natural route as he is very sensitive to all Big Pharma meds and on warfarin. Sounds like he made the right move on this occasion.😒

Best wishes

I take colchicine for gout that comes despite alopurinal - 3 daily didn't block it...and yes, I was careful with my diet as well. Then the pharmacist with my insurance company suggested trying a BP med without diuretic; now two months without another flare.

Sorry but did you say colcichine should only be taken for 3 days or you should only take 3 a day. Another post has me a bit confused.Thank you and best wishes.
