I have taken too much apixaban

I have taken in error a extra apixaban…I normally take 2 a day but for some reason I thought

I had missed my afternoon one…has anyone else done this. If you go online it says to go to A and E

I found previous comments concerning taking too much apixaban…I am drinking lots of water ..hoping that’s the answer..thank you for answering

Easily done - I just missed my next dose when I realised that I had mistakenly taken 2 tablets - so to be clear - I left it 24 hours before taking my next dose. I rang 111 and they said I didn’t need to go to A&E unless I fell and was wounded. Nothing much they could do unless you were an emergency.

I did that one time and immediately purchased a weekly AM and PM pill box. No more guessing if I took my pills or not. It’s a good safeguard. In the meantime, be careful today. Don’t fall or bump anything.

thank you for the replies…I have felt my pulsations all night…have taken my next dose…I should have checked this site first! I have a pill box but had a memory blank yesterday..

I think it’s not uncommon and that you’ll be absolutely fine. But do phone your pharmacy and take extra care not to fall over today!
