Does anyone else have problems with chilblains? I take apixaban and for the last few years winters have been a misery with chilblains on my right ear, my toes but mostly my fingers-they stay swollen and stiff till the weather warms up. My hands are so bad because I have cronic dry eyes which need wiping and a dog..so I have to keep removing my gloves.

Is Apixaban the only drug you take? Some BP meds can be a cause of both. I’ve never had a problem and take Apixaban but no other heart meds.
B12 deficiency can also be a cause.
If you see an optometrist they will help find something to treat dry eyes as there are many drops, gels and ointments that help but finding the cause and treating is best. Mine was caused by Blepharitis, treated with a gel wash, drops and if very bad, warm eye pad.
Poor you! I can sympathise with the chilblains. Mine started 35 years ago and recur whenever my feet get very cold. I’ve always used a combination of Snowfire ointment and soft, fluffy socks!
Get yourself some fingerless mitts - you can then keep your hands warm but can still do stuff without taking off your gloves.
The warmer weather will be coming soon and chilblain season will be over for another year!
Hello 123@bc123, I've been on apixiban for approximately 3 years now and yes I get the same feelings of freezing in hands but not only in my hands but over my whole body and it can be 60 degrees outside and my feet are like icicles to the touch also. As I write this response it's 53 degrees out now but I'm shivering while writing this. I've learned to buy a lot of sweat shirts and warm socks.
Oh my! I feel the cold but not to that extent.
