Not been on line a lot as not long had one cataract sorted. Next one due at the end of January. Was asked to stop apixaban 3 days before with no problems. All quite easy and no problems - apart from my wanting to rub my eyes when tired - which is quite often. Wife doing all the drops and looking after me well and sorting Christmassy things - I'm not a Christmas Person - I have a Bah Humbug "T" shirt especially for the big day but am so unimpressed by Christmas I usually can't even be bothered to wear it LOL.
Hope you are all keeping well and have a good Christmas. I shall try and read through posts slowly over the next few days now my eye is healing.

Now what's all this bah humbug about. Christmas can be magical, but only if you let it into your heart. I remember how I felt as a child and the excitement of the few presents and filled stocking we received There was lots of food and the fun of relations staying. I always thought Christmas meant snow and I'd wake up and it would be there. I think it's the memories that help make this time special. Today I've had an elderly couple around for a Christmas dinner and afterwards we played charades, was great fun - so I made more lovely memories.
Yes Christmas when we were young was wondrous. Considering my Mum and Dad had little money to spare the three of us siblings always had a good time with lovely memories.
my cataracts ops were held up due to lockdowns to the point of nearly needing a guide dog!
Wow! Was so great to get then done, only down side for me is I need reading glasses which weren’t needed before. My hubby is a bah Christmas person too but always enjoys it on the day. He also had both cataracts done this too. Good luck with other eye and Happy Christmas 🎅
I think most husbands are like this once the children are grown up !

Cataracts - had both mine done in the past without which DVLA would never have renewed my PCV ( bus licence). I had to stop Warfarin for a few days ...... sorted, ever sinc ethen I've been soaring with the eagles.
Now I wish you whatever Christmas you wish for and I trust you will thoroughly enjoy all the Christmas rubbish on TV.
Well sure to find some good stuff on tv. I have enjoyed A Spy Among Friends and am now watching Litvinenko on ITVx I am having trouble hearing too - despite two hearing aids. My consultant did say that once I can see properly and can see lips moving that may improve. Can't get subtitles on streamed services through Firestick - maybe the newer firestick can give subtitles? Maybe worth investigating and treating myself.
I had both done around the same time diagnosed with a fib and have never had a problem because of my a fib. I have a wrinkle in one of them but I had to wrinkle before the surgery evidently they can smooth it only to appoint. I went from legally blind to 20/25 amazing for the first time in my life to have vision like that since a child. I pray that you have the same luck with great vision. What a miracle to wake up in the morning and see things as they really are😊
That's wonderful Dawn. How absolutely amazing! I also have Macular degeneration and also get a problem with getting double vision now and again which stems from a bang on the head back in the late 70's so will not be expecting any change with that and will still have to wear spectacles though my wife had her cataracts done 10 years ago and now doesn't need to wear spectacles at all - though she has just started wearing them for reading. I just want to be able to read a book again. My wife even bought me a book for Christmas.
i’m sorry you won’t get the total package of excitement but I’m sure it will be better than you have now. Yes to be able to read a book is truly amazing as well as not talk to the wastebasket thinking it’s my cat lol. My vision is different in each eye because that is the type of contact I was wearing and I decided to do the same with the surgery so as to not need eyeglasses. I think at some point I may still need them then again I’m thinking about how tiny The writing is on the screen of my phone at the moment. I really hate when you try to read some thing like a magazine and they have it in bright colors and other ways of printing that make it hard to read no matter how good your vision is. Also trying to read information on food packages in the store or any packages. It’s not helpful if you can’t see it and even with nearly perfect vision there are things I cannot say. Enjoy your new eyes 😊 by the time they finish with me I will be bionic lol. Happy New Year
