I had a ablation maybe 3 years ago everything was great until October this year, I had a attack on the plane whilst going on holiday, I sat it out and fortunately it passed ,on return my GP increased my bisoprolol to 7.5 ml. It lasted two weeks and I’m now have more attacks. This morning my AF wakes me up and I have been in Af since, it takes it out of me so tired,
The question is when do I call 111 or do I sit it out and speak to my GP tomorrow?
Thanks

I’m sorry to read what you’ve been going through - I see you wrote this about 2 pm today - have you reverted yet? Are you taking anti coagulants still, since your ablation?
I would like to hope that you have reverted by now. I haven’t had an ablation,so I haven’t any experience of them, but if you are still in Afib, take loads of long slow deep breaths…. I’m sure others will come along soon to help and advise.
If you are really worried, you would be better going to A&E but in the present climate, it is entirely up to you and how worried you are and how high your HR is….I would definitely try and get an appointment with your GP before Christmas if you can though, if your attacks are becoming more frequent. I’d also ask to be referred to a cardiogist/EP again for checks etc?
you don’t mention your heart rate. Unfortunately your story is rather normal to many of us. If you are in pain or you can check your heart rate and it’s well over 100 go to the ER I am told now to go if it drops to 60 but I have been high is almost 160 even higher on occasion. I don’t like going to the ER I would rather deal with my Doctor Who knows everything about me but you have to make the decision. No doubt other people here will have other opinions. In the past two years I had two and a more aggressive one with Vein of Marshall plus. I’ve had two cardioversions one just failed to do anything for me. If you aren’t aware, there are no cures for a fib. Some people are very lucky and they find a way to stop them sometimes for quite a while. Eventually you will probably learn to roll with these things as I have. No I don’t like it I just cried when they told me my cardioversion with three shocks failed. But I was not surprised just disappointed. I wish you lots of luck but don’t ignore what’s going on.
Thanks for the replies, I went back into sinus about 4 pm that day, I have since spoke to my gp who has prescribed I carry a extra 2.5 mg of bisoprolo and take it when I go into AF apparently I can only take 10mg.
If that doesn’t work I’m to go to A&E and explain the situation and they will give me a tablet that has to be monitored and they will refer me to a cardiologist.
I still take apixiban also take aspirin as I have heart failure, I take blood pressure tablets , tablets for angina , my blood pressure is 117/76 and hr 52 bpm.
When I go into AF my hr jumps around goes as high as 180 bpm also drops low and misses beat I’m like a old banger mis firing! My GP is great and his advice is go to A&E as that’s the quickest route to see a cardiologist.
Once again thanks all for your time. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
