Driving update and a bit of positive news for a change!

Submitted the H1 form confirming that my AFib doesn't affect my ability to drive and DVLA have confirmed everything is ok. Happy days all round as I was also told that the glaucoma I was diagnosed with 13 years ago and treated for with daily eye drops isn't glaucoma (apparently I just have oddly shaped eyes) so I don't have to have DVLA authorised eye tests to keep my licence! A bit of good news for a change!

Nice to hear good news Kenny. 👍

Good news Kenny. Can I suggest you also notify your insurers and let them know as this will prevent problems should you need to make a claim sometime. Premiums shouldn’t be affected.

Yes, re your other good news, I went through invasive and repeated eye tests a short while back because of an overly keen optician who thought I might have glaucoma. But I knew it was related to an unusual but not disturbing finding in the back of my eye, commented upon by other opticians over the years. Eventually I was diagnosed as simply having an especially large optic nerve, needing no treatment. But the glaucoma clinic I then visited was a sharp reminder of the burden of this disease in our community.

But your 13 years of misdiagnosis is unbelievable ... what a relief for you.

Great news Kenny. My mom had glaucoma and I was told by the eye hospital in the summer that its really difficult to diagnose with my eyes, as like yours, mine are an odd shape due to severe myopia. They don't think I have it but are not sure! 😊

Great news! I had similar issues a few months ago, renewing as I have to every 3 years, being over 70. The forms seem to have changed too. (Afib has been added?) But anyway I got through
