It’s always interesting seeing the media coverage when a famous person is diagnosed with AF.
If you are old enough to remember the 1992 hit film, Strictly Ballroom, you may be familiar with the actor Paul Mercurio. He is now a member of parliament In Victoria.
I like his description in this news article:
‘There’s an electronic signal from somewhere else in your heart that decides, “Hey, I want to have a party” and they take over your heart …’.
I hope everyone’s heart doesn’t party too hard this festive season.

Hiya Kaz,
Merry Christmas to you too ..... wish like hell I was at your place and not at mine. Zero degrees in Cornwall is too bloody cold !
Hey guess what, I can remember Paul and also remember another Mercurio - Gus ! That dates me now dunnit ??
Love the Mornington Peninsula ........ place to be and especially the Hastings electorate area. When my kids were little we used to holiday down at a place called Cape Liptrap. Awesome coastal area too.
I remember Gus Mecurio well as well. I guess that makes us both oldies 😀
The forecast for Christmas day here in the West is for around 30 degrees C so it should be perfect. I have a number of friends travelling in the UK at the moment as well as the family there so I keep seeing heaps of snow photos on Facebook.
There are lots of beautiful spots in Victoria. We need to go and explore more one day.
Stay warm and have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
Seasons greetings to you too Karen from icy Cornwall. Hope you are all keeping well and your heart is behaving and enjoy a lovely warm festive holiday. xx
It was a great movie - my husband and I met at a ballroom dancing studio and dancing played a large part in our lives for many years. Now it's the ocassional dance at a wedding or party.
Nice to hear that Perth is nice and sunny,my granddaughter lives in Como but is on holiday in New Zealand at the moment, and my daughter lives in the hills outsde of Adelaide SA,been to both places quite a few times over the years, just love being warm at Christmas ,enjoy.
That's really interesting - I loved that film. My daughter took me to see the stage show in London a few weeks ago which was just as funny and entertaining.
