Glesson 3+4, dre normal,psa 4.2, no symptoms, grade T2

Value now time quality of life and could go for the surveillance, treatment would be radiotherapy and possible hormone therapy with side effects not to be laughed at.

Anyone else on active surveillance?

Have you tried posting in the Prostate Cancer section of healthunlocked?

Not prostate but had radiotherapy and hormone therapy for breast cancer. Just at the end of the 5 years. Radiotherapy for me was a doddle but hormone therapy I agree, the side effects are certainly not to be laughed at. There are different types so one that may not suit you another one might. You could always try hormone therapy and if you suffer side effects that are too much then stop. Hope all goes well for you.

Brother had radiotherapy without hormone therapy 11 years ago, his cancer was locally advanced I.e. worse than mine.

He made full recovery after 20 treatments of radio, still running about like a blue arsed fly.
