Last week I was prescribed medicine that contained carbon.
For the last five months I have been taking slow release Flecainide and BP and pulse have been perfect, I have been feeling very well. After two doses of the carbon based meds I had an irregular very slow heart beat and my blood pressure dropped. This has been the case for five days now, today my pulse dropped to 39bpm
On doing a bit of research on Google I read that carbon stops flecainide being absorbed
I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and to warn everyone to avoid it!
I hope the Flecainide will start doing it's job again soon
Thanks

What is the "carbon based" medicine, and why are you taking it? Was this prescribed by the same doctor that prescribed the flecainide, or was this an OTC medicine you did on your own? Activated carbon is frequently given to poisoning victims, as it will absorb (and deactivate) a large number of organic compounds. This doesn't sound like a good combination to me!
